Your holiday

Your camping holiday in the Gers with stunning views of the undulating Gascony countryside.

Castel Camping Le Camp de Florence enjoys a privileged position in the heart of the Gers countryside, amid gently undulating hills and valleys covered with vines, corn and endless fields of sunflowers. Spread over 25 acres for only 197 pitches, the recent, well-equipped hire accommodation and generous camping caravanning pitches offer the luxury of space and breath-taking views of both the Gascony landscape and the Collegiate Church of La Romieu. With nature all around you, stretching right to the horizon, you will enjoy a healthy breath of fresh air every morning.

The Gers is renowned for its culinary delights; this is a region where life is good. Proud of this tradition, Castel Camping Le Camp de Florence invites you to taste some of the delicious specialities typical of south west France in the charming restaurant. On the terrace in the shade of the hundred year old chestnut trees, you can enjoy a drink with friends while your children play, just a few meters away, in the tropical swimming pool specially designed to delight youngsters.

A 5 minute stroll from the park takes you to La Romieu, a picturesque fortified village, first established in the 11th century by pilgrims on the St Jacques de Compostelle pilgrim route. Dominating the centre of the village is the magnificent 14th century Collegiate church with its cloisters, frescos and towers. The Collegiate church is a UNESCO listed world heritage monument and a fascinating tour is not to be missed. Have you heard the legend of the cats...?

The undulating Gers countryside surrounds the campsite and will delight walkers of all levels. A large number of signposted walks start directly from the campsite and the famous Saint Jacques de Compostelle pilgrim route goes through La Romieu. The village was an important part of the pilgrimage as can be seen by the beautiful Collegiate Church, which we admire from the Camp of Florence.
