Nérac

NéracIn the land of Henri IV

The small town of Nérac dates back to the 11th century, but its medieval remains date back to its most prosperous period, when the Lords of Albret and Navarre, the family of Marguerite de Valois and Henri IV, settled here. The Renaissance wing of the château, some pretty buildings, riverside gardens and an old bridge all date back to this period. In addition to its heritage, the town is very popular for its Saturday market.
